Vice President of Marketing and Digital Media, KU Alumni Association
Primary office:

David Johnston, Vice President of Marketing & Digital Media, KU Alumni Association

David, j’94, g’06, joined the Association in 2007 after establishing KU’s visual identity system as the university’s first director of marketing. When the former KU cross country All-American isn’t out running, he usually can be found cheering on the Jayhawks with his wife, Sara, d’96, their two girls, Sydney and Sophia, and their little boy, Austin.

David teaches in the Leadership Studies Minor because he believe that we all have the capacity for leadership in our communities. He loves the passion that students bring to the university, and once they are given the tools and techniques for engaging in the process of leadership, there is no end to what they achieve.

The opportunity to collaborate is what energizes David about Leadership Studies. He believes that our best ideas are made better and given a chance to succeed when they are born of an effective leadership process.
