Application Deadline

Applications to the Graduate Certificate in Equity and Social Diversity are accepted on a rolling basis. 

Application Materials for Applicants Who Are NOT Enrolled in Another Graduate-Level Program at KU:

Complete the online application available at KU's Graduate Studies website and submit it. The application fee can be paid online as the last step of the application. Application forms submitted without a fee cannot be processed.

Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA in their previous academic work to be admitted to regular graduate student status. Applicants should provide a copy of an official transcript from all colleges and universities attended. Upload a copy of each transcript to your application. If admitted, you’ll also need to send an official copy of all transcripts to Graduate Admissions. It can take three weeks for transcripts to arrive.

Your statement of purpose should include a description of your background and interest in leadership studies. The statement should be a maximum of two pages, single spaced.

All applicants must provide proof of English proficiency. For more information about English proficiency requirements, visit the English proficiency requirements webpage. 

Application Materials for Applicants Who Are Already Enrolled in Another Graduate-Level Program

Complete the online application available at KU's Graduate Studies website and submit it. The application fee can be paid online as the last step of the application.  Application forms submitted without a fee cannot be processed.

Your statement of purpose should include a description of your background and interest in leadership studies. The statement should be a maximum of two pages, single spaced.

The letter of support should come from your faculty advisor or the Director of Graduate Studies in your home academic department. The letter should confirm that you are in good academic standing with your home department and that they support your application for the certificate program.

Provisional Admission

Student with GPAs below 3.0 or who have been out of school for an exceptional length of time may be required as a condition of their admission to take an additional course to ensure their academic preparation and success.

Tuition and Fees

Applicants should consult the Financial Aid & Scholarships website for more information about estimated tuition and fees. Applicants should select the appropriate residency, then select Graduate students and Liberal Arts & Sciences in the dropdown menus to view the current tuition and fee rates for this program.

Eligibility

Please note that this program does not meet full-time enrollment requirements for most international applicants who are not already enrolled in a graduate-level program at KU, including those requesting an F-1 visa. International applicants should contact our Graduate Program Coordinator, Kara Kopchinski (kara.kopchinski@ku.edu) prior to applying to verify their eligibility for this program.
