Leadership Studies Minor
Leadership Studies Minor Overview
The Leadership Studies Minor (LSM) is a “minor for all majors.” Regardless of your employment goals, your major or specialty focus, or whether you are doing leadership work now or not, this is the minor for you. Our Adaptive Leadership approach offers the knowledge, skills, and experience you will need to facilitate the change that will help your relationships, groups, organizations, and communities thrive.
Our classes take an applied, practical approach to studying leadership. You will learn relevant skills like working effectively in groups, managing stress, problem solving, collaborating with others, seeing multiple perspectives, managing conflict effectively, and much more. We think of these as “tools” that you can add to your leadership toolbox and can use and apply whenever you need to. This way you will be prepared to tackle any challenges that come your way when working with others.
The 18-credit minor is completed by taking six (6) Leadership Studies classes and can be completed in as little as four (4) semesters. We offer online and in-person courses.
What’s more? The LSM looks great on a resume and provides excellent talking points in job interviews to demonstrate your experience with leadership skills, which are highly sought by employers.
