Biography —
Michelle D. Wilson is the Academic Coordinator Assistant Director of Academic and Professional Development for TRIO SES & STEM and a doctoral student candidate in the KU Communication Studies department. Her research interest is around organizational communication, workplace bullying (i.e. managers who use their power to bully), and toxic work environments. She plans to connect her diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice efforts on campus with her research interest. Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies, with an emphasis in organizational communications from KU and a master’s degree from Washburn University in liberal studies, with an emphasis in public administration.
Michelle is the former KU Black Faculty and Staff Council President for two terms. She is currently a KU Staff Senator, KU Staff Senate Diversity and Inclusion committee co-chair, KU University Senate Ad-Hoc DEI Committee member, KU FIRST Student Organization advisor, KU Black Alumni Network Young Alumni/Student Programs co-chair, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
