Precious Porras

Dr. Porras joined Dominican University in March 2021. She champions the importance and value of a inclusive college environment and leads the development of effective strategy to create a culture for equity, diversity, and inclusion. In her role, she actively engages students, faculty, and staff to further behaviors, attitudes, and policies that support diversity, equity, and inclusion. With over 16 years of progressive diversity & leadership experience working in higher education, she has significant experience in social justice & diversity education, program development, cultural competence and recruitment and retention of marginalized populations. I value equity, access, scholarship, inclusive leadership & community. She comes to Dominican from University of Kansas where she served in a variety of roles including Assistant Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Director of Multicultural Affairs. When not at work, Precious can be found spending time with her husband, daughter and dog, planning her next vacation, reading and/or watching reruns of The Office or Will & Grace.
